The movie is about long time friends who have hidden feelings for each other but rule out giving into their erotic sides due to fear of breaking a longstanding friendship. The stories being discussed in the scene where Sally faked an orgasm was actually a collection of stories from couples the director had compiled. The museum scene where Billy Crystal spoke “But, I would be proud to partake of your pecan pie” was not in the script and was an adlib by Billy. Sally was looking towards the director who signaled her to just go along with it. The famous quote, “I’ll be having what he’s having” was suggested by Billy Crystal and was not in the actual script. The fake orgasm on the other hand was a suggestion from Meg which the director loved and inserted into the script.

Tom Hanks had to gain 30 pounds for his role as the drunken coach of the Peaches. The ending scene which took place in the Baseball Hall of Fame had original players of the league in them. all the scratches and bruises you see are real and not makeup. The actual stadium the Peaches played in couldn’t be used for the movie for it was in a state of disrepair and was condemned. The only reminder of its existence is the original archway and the sign about the Peaches. All the stars that auditioned had to show they could actually play baseball, with the exception of Geena who used a double for stunts. Madonna’s stand in was an actual performer who had worked in Vegas for many years as Madonna. The disheartening scene when Betty Spaghetti’s husband died was so emotional it took three days to film. Renee Coleman’s Bruise remained with her for a year before actually healing.

The movie was shot in black and white even when colored films were all the rage, and the make-up that was used by the major characters (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon) made their faces look green. Marilyn was undergoing rough times and scenes required so many takes (a maximum of 40 at the most) frustration may have had some lines dubbed over for the final cut of the film. The proposal scene caused a preview audience to erupt in uncontrollable laughter that it had to be re-shot for most of the spoken dialogue ended up being missed. Marilyn was pregnant during the making of the film which made her look heavy. Most still photos used for promotional materials had her stand in do the pose with Marilyn’s face superimposed later before publishing.

The film was the story of a guy who had to come up with a reliable source of income to prove his worthiness for shared Child custody. The actual inner shots of the film were patterned from the American Museum of Natural History whose outer shots were taken and used for the film. The film even increased the patron ship of the Actual Museum due to interest brought about by the film. Owen Wilson’s role was supposed to be a cameo one but his impact on the overall film had it integrated into the film. The license plate on the thieves van is the initial and birth year of the set dresser Guy Roland. The film was set to be filmed in Montreal but Ben Stiller was not happy working there but liked BC so it was moved there to give way to the actor’s preference.

Anime fanatics gone “banzai!” as a new piece of Shojo anime masterpiece just reached Philippine T.V.’s shores and is currently a hit among otakus. It is a crazy mix of romance, comedy, friendship and pure hardcore silliness that will surely tickle the anime-lover kid in you.
The story revolves around Sunako Nakahara, a not-so-typical female protagonist that is actually a fan of the dark and creepy things instead of the usual sweet and fair stuff you see in most stories. That’s twist enough but there’s more: she actually has to live in a big mansion with four super handsome guys until she becomes a “real” lady.
Yes it sounds as if it’ll be super romantic and all, but believe me, it’s more of light, innocent fun than whatever you’re probably thinking of. Actually, it’s stress-relieving to watch, take me for my word.
It’s now airing at TV5 every Mondays to Thursdays at 6:30 pm and every Saturdays and Sundays at 5:00-6:00 pm. Try and watch it!

Hairspray is a remake of the 1988 film with the same title. There is also a stage adaptation of this musical which has been on production on stage since 2002. It is about an overweight girl named Tracy Turnblad (Nikky Blonsky) who joined a teen dance TV program “The Corny Collins Show” in which she exclaims her support on integration. In this version, Tracy evaded the cops and made her way to the crowning night of Miss Hairspray, while in the two other versions, she was arrested and put to jail after a riot due to racial discrimination. Another ironic detail is that John Travolta played a drag role, dressing up and acting as a female, while his belief in Scientology is strongly against homosexuality.

This film starring Adam Sandler as Michael Newman features a new kind of universal remote control which could literally control anything with the same buttons found on a regular remote control. This gadget is given to Michael by a character named Morty (Christopher Walken) who later on in the film is revealed as the Angel of Death. His name Morty seems normal in the beginning, but it actually is the perfect name for him. In Italian and Portuguese, the word “death” translates to “Morte,” “Moarte” and “Mort” in French. Coincidentally, Christopher Walken has also portrayed the role of the Angel of Death in two films before Click.

One of the best comedy films of all time, the Ghostbusters is one of those Sci-Fi comedies you just had to see but do you know that the film was marred by negative effects of John Belushi’s death who was supposed to play the part of Peter Venkman in the film and the character Winston was originally written for Eddie Murphy. The green ghost we all know as “SLIMER” was called onionhead by the crew due to the bad smell and was called the “ghost of John Belushi” by Dan Aykroyd. The film was supposed to have the Ghostbusters as part of emergency services as fire and paramedics were but the script was modified to show the humble beginnings of the group. The Ecto-mobile was originally black in color but the many night shots had it re-painted white for visibility purposes. There was an actual phone line that was set up for the film which when called had the characters telling people they were out on a ghost busting trip. The proton packs were fitted with flash bulbs so the special effects guys’ would know the precise frames of film where they should place the energy blasts as they were fired.
