Tom Hanks had to gain 30 pounds for his role as the drunken coach of the Peaches. The ending scene which took place in the Baseball Hall of Fame had original players of the league in them. all the scratches and bruises you see are real and not makeup. The actual stadium the Peaches played in couldn’t be used for the movie for it was in a state of disrepair and was condemned. The only reminder of its existence is the original archway and the sign about the Peaches. All the stars that auditioned had to show they could actually play baseball, with the exception of Geena who used a double for stunts. Madonna’s stand in was an actual performer who had worked in Vegas for many years as Madonna. The disheartening scene when Betty Spaghetti’s husband died was so emotional it took three days to film. Renee Coleman’s Bruise remained with her for a year before actually healing.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON: Movie Trailer – Click here for funny video clips
The movie is a very enticing one due to the utter complexity of the needed special effects, with Benjamin growing younger as opposed to older as with the rest of the cast. Some trivia’s that may have not been known, the film was initially considered for Tom Cruise as the lead instead of Brad. The producers of the film also kept in close communication with Levi’s for authentic clothes that were period authentic for the character played by Brad. The film was also the second to film in the flood-ravaged lands of New Orleans which was also for one very obvious reason, tax discounts from the state. The movie had been planned and prepared for as early as 1994. The aging process took four hours for Pitt for the early scenes and four hours for Cate Blanchett for her aging scenes as the film was ending.
The story also had a very colorful past for it was initially bought by Ray Stark in the late 70’s, and then by Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall for Amblin. The later two eventually detached from Spielberg taking the rights with them as they formed their own production firms, with the film’s rights finally being brought by Erick Roth who vowed to commit to the film upon his father’s death in 2002.

Anime fanatics gone “banzai!” as a new piece of Shojo anime masterpiece just reached Philippine T.V.’s shores and is currently a hit among otakus. It is a crazy mix of romance, comedy, friendship and pure hardcore silliness that will surely tickle the anime-lover kid in you.
The story revolves around Sunako Nakahara, a not-so-typical female protagonist that is actually a fan of the dark and creepy things instead of the usual sweet and fair stuff you see in most stories. That’s twist enough but there’s more: she actually has to live in a big mansion with four super handsome guys until she becomes a “real” lady.
Yes it sounds as if it’ll be super romantic and all, but believe me, it’s more of light, innocent fun than whatever you’re probably thinking of. Actually, it’s stress-relieving to watch, take me for my word.
It’s now airing at TV5 every Mondays to Thursdays at 6:30 pm and every Saturdays and Sundays at 5:00-6:00 pm. Try and watch it!

Based on the life of a real geisha, Memoirs of a Geisha depicts the lives of the geishas back in he 1960s to the 1970s. The film was based on the novel by Arthur Golden whose main character in the book was based on the retired geisha Mineko Iwasaki. Contrary to popular belief that geishas are some kind of prostitutes or sexual companions, they are in fact artistic performers and entertainers. Iwasaki explains that the geisha never offered their virginity as a part of their job as geisha. Although the movie features a Japanese culture, it has become quite controversial for having Chinese actors portray the roles of the Japanese characters. Aside from this issue in casting, the political relationship between Japan and China has been affected.

The movie is known by all who have been around in the 80’s when interest in UFO’s and other space phenomenon were experiencing a revival. There are a couple of facts that are quite intriguing in the film like the fact Director Spielberg wrote the script during breaks from shooting Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford was also in the film as the school principal but was cut out during editing due to his “distracting” trait maybe because he is one of the hottest male stars with Star Wars and Indiana Jones. ET’s communicator device was an actual scientifically based gadget made by a communications scientist. Yoda, the last Jedi of the Old order in Star Wars made an appearance in the Halloween scene, music from Star Wars Episode V was also heard which was released in 1980.

The movie involved the main character build an actual baseball field which still stands to this day. The owners of the land subsequently put up a hut where they offered memorabilia and allowed people to play baseball as they please. During the time of filming, Iowa was experiencing a drought which had the fields watered with a lot of water just to allow filming in a seemingly green field. The green grass’s color is paint for the real grass that was bought didn’t have enough time to grow properly and died. The film also included some formerly unknown superstars of today such as Ben Affleck and Matt Damon! “Shoeless” Joe Jackson actually batted left handed and threw right and Doc Graham actually batted left. The scene where Ray visits 1972 Chisholm Minnesota to search for Moonlight Graham, The local movie theater was showing another 1972 film, The Godfather.
